Huawei has confirmed that its Mate XT Ultimate tri-fold foldable phone will launch globally on February 18th in Kuala Lumpur. The phone, which was initially launched in China in November, features a 10.2-inch display that folds into a 6.4-inch smartphone form factor.
The Mate XT Ultimate's 'Tiangong hinge' allows for a flexible set-up, enabling users to use the screen in a traditional dual-screen arrangement. The device boasts a 144Hz dynamic refresh rate LTPO OLED display.
Pricing and availability will be announced at the launch event. The phone is expected to be expensive, with its Chinese counterpart costing CNY¥19,999 (approximately £2,135/$2,820).
Huawei is still subject to US sanctions, which means the phone cannot run Google apps and services without significant workarounds. The company's progress on this issue remains unclear.
