Ford Recalls Over 694,000 Vehicles Due to Fuel Leak Risk

Edited by: Tetiana Pinchuk Pinchuk

Ford Motor Company has announced a recall affecting over 694,000 vehicles in the United States, including certain Bronco Sport and Escape models, due to a potential fuel leak that could increase the risk of a fire. The recall specifically targets vehicles equipped with 1.5-liter engines, where a cracked fuel injector may allow fuel to leak into the engine compartment, potentially leading to an underhood fire.

The recall encompasses certain 2021-2024 Bronco Sport and 2020-2022 Escape models. Ford is developing a revised solution to fully address the issue and ensure safety. The company is cooperating with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) during its investigation and has reported five under-hood fires related to this issue, though no accidents or injuries have been reported. Owners are advised to contact Ford customer service for more information and to schedule necessary repairs.
