Camden, a district in London, is leading the way in developing a groundbreaking electric vehicle charging system. Trojan Energy has installed charging stations directly into the pavement, addressing the aesthetic issues associated with traditional charging stations.
The chargers are connected to remote cabinets via underground cables, allowing for on-street charging without the need for bulky equipment. Drivers must use a special adapter to connect their vehicles.
Camden plans to install 70 charging stations by July 2025 and an additional 570 by 2026, providing benefits for EV owners and shared car services.
