BYD's New Super e-Platform Enables EV Charging as Fast as Refueling Gas Cars

BYD has unveiled its Super e-Platform, a new EV platform designed to eliminate charging anxiety by matching refueling speeds of combustion engine cars. * The platform achieves a peak charging power of 1 megawatt (1,000 kW), adding 400 km of range in about five minutes. * It features a "kilovolt high-voltage architecture" and a 'Flash Charging Battery' with a maximum charging rate of 10C. * BYD developed a new generation silicon carbide (SiC) power chip with a voltage range up to 1,500 V. * The technology is implemented in the new HAN L and TANG L models. * BYD plans to build over 4,000 megawatt flash-charging stations across China and introduces "dual-gun charging" technology for compatibility with existing infrastructure.
