Tata Motors Launches Hydrogen Truck Trials in India, Backed by National Green Hydrogen Mission

Tata Motors has begun trials of hydrogen-powered heavy-duty trucks in India, supported by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy. The 24-month trial will deploy 16 trucks across key freight routes, testing both Hydrogen Internal Combustion Engine (H2-ICE) and Hydrogen Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle (H2-FCEV) technologies. These trucks, including the Tata Prima H.55S and H.28 models, feature a 300-500 km range and advanced safety features. This initiative aims to evaluate the commercial viability of hydrogen vehicles and support India's transition to sustainable mobility.
