Mercedes-Benz is set to maintain its V12 engine for select markets, including the Maybach S-Class S 680 and armored S-Class Guard. AMG will continue supplying V12 engines to Pagani. The company is also developing a new electrified V8 engine for future AMG models on the AMG.EA platform, compliant with Euro 7 standards. A 48-volt electrified four-cylinder engine will debut in the new CLA, paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. Mercedes anticipates plug-in hybrids and EVs will constitute only 30% of sales by 2027, with the remaining 70% opting for combustion engines with 48-volt technology.
