Microsoft is rolling out a redesign of Microsoft 365 Copilot, its paid business AI assistant. The update, announced in a blog post on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, includes access to ChatGPT-4o's image generation capabilities.
The redesigned app will also feature AI-powered search within Windows, Copilot Notebooks for organizing project files, and a Create mode to aid in design. A new Agent Store will provide quick access to specialized AI agents, including Researcher and Analyst agents powered by OpenAI's deep reasoning models. These agents can assist with complex research and data analysis tasks.
Microsoft's investment in OpenAI in early 2023 aimed to integrate ChatGPT technology into Microsoft devices. The Microsoft 365 Copilot app is designed to power human-agent collaboration. A dedicated Copilot key and Win + C shortcut on Windows 11 PCs offer easy access to Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat.
