Xpeng, a Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer, has unveiled the latest version of its Iron humanoid robot, demonstrating significant progress in artificial intelligence and mobility. The updated Iron robot is equipped with Xpeng's 'Turing AI chip' and runs on the 'Tianji AIOS' software, providing a substantial 3,000 TOPS of processing power.
This processing capability enables Iron to manage AI models with up to 30 billion parameters, facilitating complex tasks and decision-making. Iron's speech interaction system, derived from Xpeng's automotive technology, allows for natural and intuitive conversations.
Standing at 5'8'' tall and weighing 154 pounds, Iron features 60 joints and 200 degrees of freedom, enabling fluid and adaptable movements. Its hands are particularly dexterous, with 22 degrees of freedom for precise object manipulation. Currently, Iron is being utilized on Xpeng's automotive production lines, assisting with various manufacturing processes. Xpeng envisions Iron as a versatile assistant suitable for a range of environments, including retail spaces, offices, and homes. The robot incorporates a 720° AI vision system, providing comprehensive environmental awareness and seamless integration with Xpeng's broader AI ecosystem.
