Gmail Integrates AI to Add Events Directly to Google Calendar

Edited by: Veronika Nazarova

Google has introduced a new feature for Gmail that allows users to add events to Google Calendar directly from emails.

This tool uses the Gemini AI model to analyze email content and suggest an "Add to Calendar" button if it detects information about a planned event. Clicking the button opens a side panel in Gmail for users to confirm the event details before adding it to their calendar.

The feature is currently available only in English and does not support automatically adding other invited attendees. It will not appear in emails where the event has already been added or removed, such as restaurant or travel reservations.

The function is gradually being rolled out to Gmail web users with Business, Enterprise, Gemini Education, Education Premium, and Google One AI Premium subscription plans, with full deployment expected by mid-April.
