Google's Gemini AI Gains Camera Integration and On-Screen Analysis

Edited by: Veronika Nazarova

At Mobile World Congress 2025, Google unveiled new AI features for Gemini, enhancing user interaction with mobile devices.

Gemini Live now integrates with the phone's camera, allowing users to stream video and receive real-time AI analysis. For example, users can point their camera at supermarket shelves to get product information or identify unknown monuments while traveling.

Additionally, Gemini can analyze on-screen content in any app, providing instant information about unfamiliar terms or concepts without switching apps.

These features, powered by Gemini's multimodal capabilities, will be available to Android users with a Google One AI Premium subscription starting next month. While the enhanced camera use raises privacy and battery concerns, it marks a significant step in AI assistant evolution.
