Microsoft's Copilot AI Expands to Viber, Joining WhatsApp and Telegram

Edited by: Veronika Nazarova

Microsoft is expanding its Copilot AI tool to Viber, adding to its availability on WhatsApp and Telegram.

Users can ask questions, generate images, and retrieve information within these apps.

On Viber, granting file access allows viewing generated images. Copilot uses DALL-E 3 for image generation.

Unlike Viber and WhatsApp, Telegram requires users to share their phone number, a measure to prevent abuse of the image generation feature and restrict access in certain regions.

While Copilot on Telegram and Viber cites sources, the WhatsApp version does not.

The AI assistant also prompts users to install the standalone Copilot mobile app and can be used on web and desktop versions of the messenger apps. Copilot on Telegram has up to 60,000 monthly users.
