ChatGPT Weekly Active Users Exceed 400 Million, Enterprise Clients Double

San Francisco - OpenAI's ChatGPT has surpassed 400 million weekly active users as of February 2025, a 33% increase from December 2024. Brad Lightcap, COO of OpenAI, revealed that the company now serves 2 million paying enterprise clients, nearly double the number from September 2024. The growth is attributed to user recommendations and the utility of AI tools. Developer traffic has doubled in the last six months as they integrate OpenAI's models into their applications. OpenAI is updating ChatGPT to compete with new AI models, including those from China-based DeepSeek. Lightcap also addressed disagreements with Elon Musk, stating they stem from Musk's business style. Musk had accused OpenAI CEO Sam Altman of prioritizing profit over the company's original mission. In February, Musk offered $97.4 billion for OpenAI's non-profit division.
