Global Future Energy Summit Opens in Abu Dhabi, Highlights AI in Energy Sector

The Global Future Energy Summit commenced today in Abu Dhabi, attracting participants from 175 countries and expecting around 30,000 attendees. The event is part of the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2025, hosted by Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar), and features 13 heads of state, over 50 ministers, and 200 CEOs.

Key discussions at the summit include advancements in renewable energy, green hydrogen, artificial intelligence, and sustainable cities. AI's potential to enhance efficiency, secure supply chains, and reduce emissions in the energy sector is a focal point.

Presentations will showcase a pioneering case study on self-drilling operations that saved $500 million and reduced CO2 emissions by one million tons in 2023. Additionally, innovative solutions for smart buildings and real-time waste collection fleet optimization will be highlighted.

Ali Al Dhaheri, CEO of Tadweer, emphasized the summit's role in fostering public-private collaboration for innovative environmental solutions and economic opportunities. Meanwhile, Trina Solar announced its participation, focusing on solar energy solutions and a new agreement to supply over 300 MW to Egypt's Abidos solar project.
