Turkey Launches AI-Powered Intensive Care Management System by 2025

The Turkish Ministry of Health is set to implement an AI-supported "Intensive Care Center Management System" across all hospitals by the first quarter of 2025. This system aims to enable real-time monitoring of patients' health processes and bed availability in intensive care units.

The initiative will integrate data from digital devices used in intensive care into the e-Nabız health information system, facilitating rapid medical interventions. The project is part of a broader effort to enhance the digitalization of health services in Turkey.

With this system, health professionals will receive decision support for identifying patients' intensive care needs based on AI analyses. The goal is to ensure effective, traceable, and uninterrupted health service delivery.

Currently, health data from hospitals, including intensive care units, is sent to e-Nabız via the Hospital Information Management System (HBYS). The new system will improve the direct integration of data from intensive care devices into e-Nabız.

The Ministry aims to improve financial oversight of intensive care health expenditures and contribute to healthcare policy development through this initiative. A dedicated team will continuously monitor intensive care data, ensuring timely interventions and updates for health managers.

Integration of the system is expected to be completed by February 1, 2025, for tertiary hospitals and by April 1, 2025, for secondary hospitals.
