Renault Nissan Technology and Business Center India (RNTBCI) has inaugurated a new facility in Bengaluru, part of its RNTBCI 3.0 initiative to enhance its capabilities as a 'Smart Carmaker.'
This center will focus on advancing Software-Defined Vehicle (SDV) technologies and artificial intelligence (AI), combining engineering systems, software, and IT teams to improve vehicle features and operational efficiency.
Debashis Neogi, MD & Board Member at RNTBCI, praised the Bangalore team for their role in this expansion. The facility includes test benches, a car workshop, and high-speed fiber optic connectivity.
Karnataka, hosting over 875 Global Capability Centers (GCCs), employs 600,000 people and contributes $22.2 billion annually to India's economy. The state aims to reach 1,000 GCCs by 2029, creating 350,000 new jobs.
RNTBCI was recognized as the Rising Star GCC in AI at the Minsky Awards for Excellence for its innovative use of AI to enhance operations and customer experiences.
Last year, Nissan and Renault announced plans to increase production and R&D, introduce electric vehicles, and pursue carbon-neutral manufacturing, establishing their Chennai center as a global export hub.
