NVIDIA's Jensen Huang to Discuss AI Growth in India at Summit

NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang will engage in a fireside chat with Mukesh Ambani, chairman of Reliance Industries, on October 23 at 9:30 PM PT during the AI Summit India in Mumbai. The discussion will focus on NVIDIA's collaboration with the Indian AI ecosystem and the country's rapid adoption of accelerated computing.

The summit, running from October 23 to 25 at the Jio World Convention Centre, will feature presentations and workshops aimed at connecting industry experts and highlighting advancements in artificial intelligence.

Huang's visit underscores NVIDIA's partnerships with major Indian firms, including Reliance, Tata, and Infosys, to bolster India's AI startup landscape and reskill its IT workforce. NVIDIA has started delivering its latest GH200 AI chips to Indian partners like Tata Communications and Jio Platforms, which are developing AI-cloud infrastructure.

Tata Communications' CEO, A.S. Lakshminarayanan, confirmed that the installation of NVIDIA's AI Cloud is in progress, with a full launch expected by the third quarter of this fiscal year.

Reliance Industries has introduced several consumer-focused AI initiatives, such as Jio Brain and Jio AI-Cloud, while also planning national AI infrastructure to compete with global cloud providers. At the company's recent AGM, Ambani emphasized AI's importance in Reliance's future operations.

Moreover, Jio has launched an AI-driven feature that can transcribe, summarize, and translate phone conversations in real time, leveraging India's vast data market to refine its AI solutions. Jio's entry into the AI cloud sector aims to challenge established players like Google Cloud.

Recently, Mukesh and Akash Ambani visited the TWO US office to discuss AI's role in India with founder Pranav Mistry. TWO has also developed SUTRA, a family of multilingual generative AI models, supported by a $20 million investment from Jio Platforms and Naver.
