France Reclaims World's Longest Strawberry Cake Record

Edited by: Tetiana Pinchuk Pinchuk

A pastry shop in Argenteuil, France, has achieved a new world record for the longest strawberry cake (fraisier). The cake measured an impressive 121.88 meters in length. This achievement allows France to reclaim the record from Italy, who held it since 2019 with a 100.48-meter fraisier.

Maison Héloïse, a renowned pastry shop, spearheaded the initiative. The record-breaking fraisier was displayed on tables winding across the ice rink in Argenteuil. The public was invited to witness the event.

Pastry chef Youssef El Gatou conceived the idea, driven by a childhood fascination with the Guinness World Records. Approximately 350 kilograms of strawberries, 150 kilograms of sugar, 415 kilograms of pastry cream, and 4,000 eggs were used. The preparation involved twenty pastry chefs and nearly a week of work.
