Sportico, a sports business media outlet, recently assessed the financial standings of all 30 MLB teams, considering factors such as team assets, real estate holdings, and business operations. The New York Yankees lead the league with a valuation of $8.39 billion. Following closely behind are the Los Angeles Dodgers, valued at $7.73 billion. The Boston Red Sox ($6.03 billion), Chicago Cubs ($5.69 billion), and San Francisco Giants ($4.2 billion) round out the top five. Sportico noted the significant investment return enjoyed by the Steinbrenner family, who purchased the Yankees in 1973 for $8.8 million, equivalent to approximately $66 million today. The average valuation across all 30 MLB teams stands at $2.82 billion.
