2024 Aquabike Jetski World Championship: Portugal's Lino Araujo Claims Victory in Opening Race

On November 15, 2024, the Aquabike Jetski World Championship commenced at the stunning Lake Toba, Indonesia, drawing significant international attention. The event, which features competitors from 30 countries, is a highlight in the global water sports calendar.

The first race, known as Race 1 Endurance, witnessed an impressive performance from Portugal’s Lino Araujo, who secured first place with a total of 44 cup points. Following him was Spain’s Ruben Jimenez Riquelme in second place with 41 points, and France’s Teddy Pons in third with 40 points. This competitive spirit showcased the athletes' skills as they navigated the challenging waters of Lake Toba.

The championship, organized by PT Aviasi Pariwisata Indonesia (InJourney), will run from November 13 to 17, 2024. It involves a range of events across several locations, including Karo, Dairi, and Simalungun for endurance races, and Samosir for circuit races. The event aims not only to entertain but also to bolster local tourism and economy.

With hundreds of racers participating, the championship is set to leave a lasting impact on the region, promoting water sports tourism and enhancing the visibility of Lake Toba on the world stage.
