GloRilla recently released the music video for her song "Rain Down on Me," featuring collaborations with gospel artists. The track, which samples Kirk Franklin's "Melodies From Heaven," initially topped Billboard's Hot Gospel Songs chart in October 2024.
The song gained further recognition when it received the Dr. Bobby Jones Best Gospel/Inspirational Award at the 2025 BET Awards. This win marked GloRilla's first BET Award and made her the first female rapper to win in this category.
However, the award generated controversy within the gospel community. Deitrick Haddon expressed disappointment, questioning the decision to honor a secular rapper in a gospel category. Despite the debate, GloRilla continues to express her faith through her music.
