Edited by: Inna Horoshkina One

To commemorate the 30th anniversary of Mia Martini's death, a new album titled 'Tarab' was released on May 9, 2025. The album features previously unreleased tracks and alternative interpretations of her well-known songs. 'Tarab' includes compositions dating back to the late 1980s and early 1990s, such as 'Tarab (Soffio d'anima)', a vocal-only piece.

Key Tracks and Collaborations

The album includes 'Madre e Figlia', an unreleased song from 1982 with lyrics by Mia Martini and music by Guido Guglielminetti. 'Il fiume dei profumi', originally released on the 'Lacrime' album in 1992, is featured as a recording from Biagio Antonacci's home studio in 1991. Additionally, 'Il Pescatore' by Fabrizio De André, previously performed live, is included with a new arrangement.

'Almeno tu nell'universo'

'Tarab' also contains 'Almeno tu nell'universo', a significant song in Martini's career that marked her return to success. This version features the demo vocal presented to the Sanremo Festival's review board in 1989. Maurizio Piccoli produced the album, which is available digitally, on CD, and as a double crystal vinyl.

The Meaning of 'Tarab'

The term 'Tarab' originates from the Arabic word meaning "to be agitated," "to dance," or "to enjoy music". The release of the album is accompanied by a videoclip for 'Il fiume dei profumi'. The album is a collection of unreleased songs and alternative interpretations of previously released songs.
