Tennis Bids Farewell with 'Face Down in the Garden' Album and 2025 Tour

Edited by: Inna Horoshkina One

Denver-based indie-pop duo Tennis has released 'Face Down in the Garden' on April 25, 2025, marking their final album after a 15-year run. The married couple, Alaina Moore and Patrick Riley, announced their decision to retire the project to pursue other creative endeavors. They expressed feeling fulfilled and having said everything they wanted to say through their music. Recorded in their home studio, 'Face Down in the Garden' encapsulates Tennis's signature sound, blending intricate guitar and keyboard melodies with introspective lyrics and pop hooks. The album reflects on Moore and Riley's journey together, referencing their wedding day in tracks like 'At the Apartment' and 'At the Wedding.' '12 Blown Tires' uses tour van troubles as a metaphor for overcoming career challenges. The album concludes with the instrumental 'In Love (Release the Doves).' Tennis will embark on a farewell tour starting May 16 in Las Vegas, and also release an EP of unheard demos, 'Neutral Poetry: First Recordings, Unreleased Demos 2009-2010' on May 16.
