Actor Michael Douglas, 80, has announced a semi-retirement from acting after nearly six decades in the film industry. Speaking at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival in the Czech Republic, Douglas stated that he has "no real intentions" of returning to acting, expressing a desire to focus on personal and family time. He emphasized his decision to take a break, noting, "I had been working pretty hard for almost 60 years, and I did not want to be one of those people who dropped dead on the set." However, he clarified that he is not fully retired, leaving the door open for future projects if something special arises. Douglas also mentioned his plans to spend more time in Spain, particularly in Mallorca, where he has a residence. He expressed his affection for the region, stating, "I speak terrible Spanish, but I love this place more and more. Now, I plan to stay here for six or seven months a year, although that doesn't mean I have retired." This decision marks a new chapter in Douglas's life, allowing him to enjoy personal pursuits and family time after a distinguished career in Hollywood.
