Former President Joe Biden has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer, his office announced Sunday. The statement indicated the cancer has spread to the former president's bones.

According to a spokesperson, the cancer appears to be hormone-sensitive, allowing for effective management. Biden and his family are currently reviewing treatment options with his physicians.

Biden, who served as a senator and vice president, was elected president in 2020. He withdrew from the 2024 reelection bid due to concerns about his health and viability as a candidate.
