Singer Chris Brown was arrested Thursday in England. The arrest stems from an alleged incident in 2023. He is accused of hitting someone with a bottle in a London nightclub.
The Metropolitan Police confirmed the arrest of a 36-year-old man. He was taken into custody at a Manchester hotel. The suspicion is causing grievous bodily harm.
The Sun newspaper reported the alleged victim, Abe Diaw, claimed Brown attacked him. Diaw stated the incident occurred at the Tape nightclub in Mayfair in February 2023. He said he was hospitalized after the unprovoked attack.
Diaw alleges Brown struck him on the head with a bottle. He further claims Brown punched and kicked him while he was on the floor. Diaw has reportedly filed a 12 million pound ($16 million) lawsuit against the singer.
Brown's representative has not yet responded to requests for comment. Brown was on a U.K. tour at the time of the alleged incident. He is scheduled to tour the U.K. again in June and July.
