Britney Spears received a warning from authorities after an incident on a JSX flight from Cabo San Lucas to Los Angeles on May 22, 2025. The singer reportedly lit a cigarette during the flight, which prompted intervention from flight attendants and a subsequent warning upon arrival.

Sources indicate that Spears confused the drink holders for ashtrays and lit a cigarette. She had been drinking vodka and later addressed the incident on Instagram. Flight attendants asked her to extinguish the cigarette, leading to authorities issuing a warning when the plane landed.

In other news, a biopic based on Spears' memoir, 'The Woman In Me,' is in development, with John M. Chu directing. Chu has stated that Spears will have significant input in the film. Universal Pictures acquired the rights to Spears' memoir in August 2024.
