Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and journalist Lauren Sánchez have completed their three-day wedding celebration in Venice, Italy, which commenced on June 27, 2025. The extravagant event, estimated to have cost around $50 million, hosted approximately 200-250 prominent guests.

Lauren Sánchez wore a Dolce & Gabbana lace dress that took 900 hours to create.

The ceremony was held on the private island of San Giorgio Maggiore, featuring a performance by Matteo Bocelli. The festivities concluded with a grand finale party at a former medieval shipyard, with performances by Lady Gaga and Elton John.

The wedding, however, drew criticism and protests from local activists. The "No Space for Bezos" campaign voiced concerns over the commercialization of Venice and the effects of over-tourism on residents.

In response to the criticism, Bezos and Sánchez donated €3 million to local sustainability initiatives, including environmental research organizations focused on preserving Venice. The wedding is considered the most significant celebrity event in Venice since George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin's wedding in 2015.

The wedding festivities concluded on June 28, 2025, with the couple returning to their homes.
