Nicola Coughlan, star of Bridgerton, has offered a sneak peek into Season 4, promising fans 'lots more romance' for Penelope and Colin. Coughlan shared details while attending the 2025 BAFTA Television Awards in London, hinting at the couple's journey into parenthood.
"We're shooting it still. It takes a long time to shoot a season of Bridgerton," Coughlan said, noting the extensive production timeline. She highlighted the newest addition to the Bridgerton family: Penelope and Colin's son, who was briefly seen at the end of Season 3.
Coughlan emphasized the changes in Penelope's life, now a married woman and a writer. "You know, she's a married woman, she's a writer, but it's delightful and gorgeous as always," she said.
Before production began, Coughlan and Newton expressed their excitement for the couple's new phase. "We're quite excited at the prospect of them just like being happy idiots," she told The Hollywood Reporter in June.
Production began in September, and Coughlan shared that she was enjoying playing a happily married person with a cute baby. Season 4 will also feature a new love story, focusing on Benedict Bridgerton, played by Luke Thompson, and Yerin Ha.
Coughlan praised Thompson and Ha for their performances, teasing their plot as "sort of a Cinderella story." She expressed confidence in the new leads, assuring fans that the series is in good hands.
