A new book claims that Hollywood stars Sylvester Stallone and Richard Gere nearly came to blows over Princess Diana at a party hosted by Elton John in the 1990s.
According to author Edward White's book, "Dianaworld: An Obsession," the incident stemmed from Stallone's intention to woo the Princess of Wales. He reportedly became increasingly agitated as Gere dominated the conversation with Diana.
Elton John recounted the story in his 2019 autobiography, "Me," stating that Gere and Diana were deeply engaged in conversation by the fireplace. This reportedly angered Stallone, who had hoped to spend the evening with the princess.
John's husband, David Furnish, allegedly found Stallone and Gere squaring up to each other in a corridor, seemingly about to fight over Diana. Furnish intervened, preventing a physical altercation.
While Stallone previously dismissed the story as a "complete fabrication," the account has resurfaced with the release of White's book. The book also details other instances of Diana's allure, including an alleged outing to a gay bar with Freddie Mercury.
