Tom Cruise recently offered a rare compliment to his ex-wife, Nicole Kidman, calling her an "excellent actress." This comes amidst rumors of a relationship with Ana de Armas.
Cruise discussed Kidman while reflecting on the film "Eyes Wide Shut" in an interview with Sight and Sound magazine. He and Kidman were married from 1990 to 2001 and starred in the film together.
"It was a great experience. I was very excited to do it," Cruise said about the film. He added, "During the conversation, I suggested Nicole for the role of Alice. Because she's obviously a great actress."
Kidman previously stated that Stanley Kubrick drew from their real-life relationship for the film. "I guess he tapped into our marriage," she said. "There were ideas that interested him."
Cruise and Kidman rarely discuss their marriage, during which they adopted two children. Cruise later married Katie Holmes and had a daughter, Suri, before divorcing in 2012.
