Jury selection in Sean "Diddy" Combs' sex trafficking trial has begun, revealing a list of over 190 names, including numerous celebrities. Prospective jurors were asked if they recognized anyone on the list, which included Kanye West, Michael B. Jordan, Kid Cudi, and Mike Myers.
The inclusion of these names has sparked speculation about their potential involvement, direct or indirect, in the case. While not all mentioned celebrities are expected to be directly involved, their presence adds a layer of intrigue to the already controversial trial.
One notable connection involves rapper Kid Cudi, who prosecutors claim was the target of a 2011 car bombing allegedly orchestrated by Combs. At the time, Cudi was reportedly dating Casandra "Cassie" Ventura, a former artist on Diddy's label who has accused Combs of abuse and trafficking. The bombing is being re-examined in light of these allegations.
Actor Michael B. Jordan, who briefly dated Cassie in 2015, also appeared on the list. Sources familiar with the case suggest Jordan is unlikely to testify, and his connection is likely circumstantial, potentially aimed at identifying juror bias.
Prosecutors allege that Combs recruited, enticed, harbored, transported, and maintained Victim-2 for commercial sex acts. The indictment also accuses him of transporting Victim-2 and other sex workers across state and international borders with the intent of engaging them in prostitution.
