Prince Harry made a public appearance in Las Vegas for the Diana Award, marking his first sighting since a controversial interview where he claimed his father, the King, is not speaking to him. The Duke of Sussex launched a new youth initiative, the Pledge To Invest drive, with the Diana Award, established in honor of his late mother.
The event coincided with his son Archie's sixth birthday. Harry engaged in a conversation with Legacy Award recipients Sikander 'Sonny' Khan and Christina Williams, alongside Paul Fipps of Service Now, at the Knowledge 2025 event.
This appearance follows Harry's recent interview where he criticized the UK's security arrangements. He described his court defeat regarding security as a "good old-fashioned establishment stitch-up." He also expressed concerns about the precedent set by using security to control family members.
The Pledge To Invest drive aims to highlight the future of youth leadership and encourage businesses to support it. Tessy Ojo, chief executive of The Diana Award, emphasized the importance of investing in young people for future innovation and workforce development.
Harry's Las Vegas visit also brings to mind his infamous 2012 trip, which involved scandalous photos. However, this time his focus was on supporting youth and encouraging investment in their future.
The Duke's comments about his family and security have likely strained relations further. He stated he "can't see a world in which I would be bringing my wife and children back to the UK" given the current security situation.
