Viewers attempting to comment on the trailer were met with a 'comments are turned off' notification. This contrasts with Prime Video's Instagram post for the film, where comments were allowed. Some users noted the 'bold move' of allowing comments on Instagram.

This isn't the first time Amazon MGM Studios has disabled comments on YouTube trailers for the film. Lively has also limited comments on her Instagram posts related to the sequel.

Legal Battle Shadows Film Release

The timing of the film's release is complicated by Lively's legal dispute with Baldoni. Lively accused Baldoni of sexual harassment and a smear campaign. Baldoni, in turn, accused Lively, Ryan Reynolds, and their publicist of defamation and extortion.

Baldoni has denied Lively's allegations. Lively, Reynolds, and Sloane have denied Baldoni's accusations. The legal battle has included the release of private communications detailing interactions during the making of It Ends with Us.
