Cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and Choreographer Dhanashree Verma Finalize Divorce After Two Years of Separation

Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and choreographer Dhanashree Verma have officially divorced after being separated for two years. The couple, who married in December 2020, finalized their divorce on March 20, 2025. They initially met during the COVID-19 lockdown when Chahal enrolled in Verma's online dance class.

Their engagement was announced in August 2020, followed by a wedding in December. However, by mid-2022, they were reportedly living apart. They filed for divorce by mutual consent on February 5, 2025.

The Bombay Family Court initially denied their request to waive the mandatory six-month waiting period, but the Bombay High Court later granted an exemption, expediting the proceedings. Chahal agreed to pay ₹4.75 crore in alimony, with half already paid.

Rumors circulated during their separation, fueled by social media posts. Both Chahal and Verma have remained silent on the reasons for their split, focusing on their careers. Chahal is preparing for the IPL 2025 season, while Verma continues her choreography work.
