India Launches Food Adulteration Detection Guide

Edited by: Olga Samsonova

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has launched the "Detect Adulteration with Rapid Test (DART) Book." This guide is designed to empower consumers by enabling them to identify potential food adulterants in their own homes.

The booklet contains over 50 simple, easy-to-follow tests, complete with illustrative pictures, covering a wide range of common food items such as milk, edible oils, and spices. These tests allow consumers to quickly and easily check the purity of these products.

In addition to the DART book, FSSAI is also providing mobile food testing labs and educational kits for schools. These initiatives are part of a broader effort to raise public awareness about food safety and promote the consumption of safe and healthy food across India.
