Mangoes Could Help Reduce the Risk of Type 2 Diabetes: New Study Reveals Promising Results for Insulin Resistance

Edited by: Olga N

A recent study suggests that eating mangoes may help reduce the risk of developing type 2 diabetes. The study, published in the journal *Nutrients*, involved participants who were obese or overweight with pre-diabetic blood sugar levels. The research showed that consuming two cups of mangoes daily for four weeks improved insulin sensitivity by 51.2% compared to a control group. Mangoes are rich in polyphenols, which can lower blood sugar and improve insulin function. They are also high in fiber, vitamins C, A, E, K, and B, and antioxidants like mangiferin, all of which can help reduce oxidative stress, inflammation, and blood sugar levels. Researchers suggest further studies to understand the mechanisms behind mango consumption and insulin resistance.
