Malaysia's film industry is booming in 2025, fueled by significant government investment and strategic partnerships. The Film in Malaysia Incentive (FIMI) has received RM30 million to attract foreign productions, with an additional RM100 million allocated for projects at Pinewood Iskandar Malaysia Studios.

The 2025 Budget further supports the industry with RM40 million earmarked for international film production. This reflects the government's commitment to fostering the arts and creative industries. Moreover, several incentive programs were announced to boost the digital creative sector, including the Digital Games Testbed Program.

The 8th Malaysia International Film Festival (MIFFest) is set for July 19–27, 2025, in Kuala Lumpur, featuring 62 films from 48 countries. Malaysia's appeal is enhanced by its strategic location, skilled workforce, and attractive incentives, attracting projects like "Crazy Rich Asians" and "The Mandalorian." This proactive approach solidifies Malaysia's position as a leading film production destination.
