The Tribeca Festival 2025, running from June 4-15 in New York City, is set to highlight K-pop with two exciting films. Among the selections are "The Rose: Come Back To Me," a documentary about the Korean alt-rock group The Rose, and "K-Pops!," a comedy film about a K-pop competition directed by Anderson.Paak.
The Rose: Come Back To Me
"The Rose: Come Back to Me" chronicles The Rose's journey from indie buskers to performers at global music festivals like Coachella and Lollapalooza. Directed by Eugene Yi, the film captures the band members – Kim Woo-sung, Park Do-joon, Lee Ha-joon, and Lee Jae-hyeong – as they create music and connect with fans. The band is scheduled to appear after the premiere, with screenings on June 6, 7, 12, and 15.
K-Pops!
Anderson.Paak's "K-Pops!" features.Paak as BJ, a musician who finds himself drumming for a Korean singing competition. The cast includes Kevin Woo, Yvette Nicole Brown, and.Paak's son, Soul Rasheed. Described as a love letter to music and family, the film will screen on June 14 and 15.
