Lynne Ramsay's 'Die, My Love,' starring Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson, made a splash at the Cannes Film Festival 2025, which runs from May 13-24. The film, a contender for the Palme d'Or, received a six-minute standing ovation following its premiere on May 17.
Based on Ariana Harwicz's 2017 novel, 'Die, My Love' explores postpartum depression and psychosis. Lawrence plays Grace, a new mother, with Pattinson as her husband, Jackson. The supporting cast includes LaKeith Stanfield, Sissy Spacek, and Nick Nolte.
Ramsay, a Cannes veteran, has had each of her five feature films premiere at the festival. 'Die, My Love' marks her first directorial effort in eight years. The film is described as a dark comedy and love story, with filming taking place in Canada. The movie is set in the United States, unlike the book, which is set in France.
