Harmukh Film Launch 2025: Kashmiri-Kannada Production Celebrates Unity in Srinagar

The feature film 'Harmukh,' a unique production in both Kashmiri and Kannada languages, was launched in Srinagar on May 26, 2025. The event featured the unveiling of the film's trailer and songs, building anticipation for its theatrical release at INOX Srinagar on June 18.

Produced by and starring Ayash Arif, 'Harmukh' aims to connect the cultures of Kashmir and Karnataka. Arif describes the film, named after a revered Kashmiri mountain, as symbolizing a "dream, a bridge, and a bond" between the two regions. The movie portrays the emotional journey of two families from different cultures and their growing understanding and love for each other.

Written by Ashok Cashyap, the film includes a cast featuring T S Nagabharana. Nasir Aslam Wani, Advisor to the Chief Minister, emphasized the film's potential to showcase Kashmir's true essence to a global audience, serving as a cultural ambassador. The music for “Harmukh” is composed by Kashmiri singer Wahid Jeelani.
