Gérard Depardieu is currently filming a new movie, Elle regardait sans plus rien voir, in the Azores, Portugal. The film is directed by Fanny Ardant, marking her sixth directorial project.
Production company APM confirmed that filming is progressing well and is expected to conclude on May 24. Depardieu plays a main character in the film, which revolves around themes of love and memory, focusing on two women, one of whom has lost her memory.
This film marks Depardieu's return to acting after four years, his last role being in 2021's Les volets verts. The film, inspired by a poem by Pushkin, is produced by APM with Portuguese public funding and currently lacks a French distributor and release date.
