Nicole Kidman will receive the 10th annual Women in Motion Award at the 78th Cannes Film Festival in May. This award recognizes individuals who advance the role of women in cinema and society, according to festival organizers.

Kidman's return to Cannes marks her first appearance since receiving an anniversary award at the 70th edition in 2017. The festival's general delegate, Thierry Frémaux, praised Kidman for embodying women who break free from constraints through her diverse roles.

The Cannes Film Festival also announced the jury for the 2025 edition, which includes Halle Berry, Leïla Slimani, and Hong Sangsoo. Juliette Binoche will preside over the jury, which consists of nine members who will select the winner of the Palme d'Or.

Other jury members include Alba Rohrwacher, Jeremy Strong, Payal Kapadia, Carlos Reygadas, and Dieudo Hamadi. The jury will evaluate 21 films in competition, including works by Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne, Jafar Panahi, Wes Anderson, and Hafsia Herzi. The festival will take place from May 13 to 24.
