The extraordinary life of Dina Štěrbová, a legendary mountaineer, is coming to Slovak screens in the documentary "Behind the Summits." Directed by Hana Pinkavová, the film will premiere at the Mountain and City Festival in Bratislava on March 29, 2025, before its theatrical release on April 3, 2025.
Štěrbová made history as the first woman to summit Cho Oyu, an 8,000-meter Himalayan peak, in 1984. The film explores her journey, highlighting her mountaineering achievements and her humanitarian work in Pakistan, where she co-founded a hospital that saved hundreds of lives.
