Edited by: Екатерина С.

The We the Makers Sustainable Fashion Prize 2025 has announced its finalists, showcasing a diverse mix of global creativity and dedication to sustainability. This year's competition attracted over 150 entries from 13 countries, solidifying Geelong's reputation as a growing center for sustainable design.

Designers from the UK, Europe, Asia, the US, and Australia are utilizing natural dyes, slow fashion methods, and upcycled textiles in their innovative creations. These designs offer a fresh perspective on sustainable fashion for 2025 and beyond. The 20 shortlisted garments will be featured in an exhibition at the National Wool Museum in Geelong from June 14 to November 30, 2025.

Awards and Recognition

The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on June 13, 2025. Prizes include the National Wool Museum Designer of the Year Award (a $10,000 prize with the garment acquired for the museum's collection) and the UNESCO City of Design People's Choice Award (a $2,000 prize). An international panel of fashion and sustainability experts will judge the entries.

Judges include Shonae Hobson, Circe Henestrosa, and Sai-Wai Foo. The Sustainable Fashion Prize is dedicated to supporting emerging designers with less than 10 years of experience. It provides a global platform and career support, redefining fashion through ethical practices and material awareness.
