Unclaimed Baggage, a retailer specializing in lost airline luggage, has released its annual Found Report, revealing unusual and valuable items discovered in unclaimed bags. In 2024, airlines mishandled over 36 million bags. Among the bizarre finds were a full breastplate from a medieval suit of armor, a Roman soldier's helmet, a freeze-dried chicken's foot, and a jar of whiskey containing a preserved rattlesnake. More unsettling was the discovery of an antique French book on performing exorcisms. The report also highlighted expensive items, including an 18-karat white gold solitaire diamond ring valued at approximately $39,000 and a gold President Oyster Rolex watch worth around $20,000. Designer clothing from Chanel and Alexander McQueen, along with Louis Vuitton luggage, were also among the lost luxury items. Unclaimed Baggage acquires lost luggage after airlines conduct a 90-day search for owners. The items are then resold, donated, or recycled. Bryan Owens, CEO & President of Unclaimed Baggage, noted that the Found Report uncovers unique stories behind travelers' journeys.
