U.S. National Intelligence Director Tulsi Gabbard stated on Fox News that the CIA is "worse" than she expected, citing politicization and weaponization within the intelligence community. Gabbard highlighted concerns that some officials are shaping intelligence to fit their agendas rather than providing unbiased information to policymakers. She criticized the Biden administration for allegedly releasing known or suspected terrorists into the U.S. due to fear of being labeled Islamophobic, endangering national security. According to an August 2024 report from the House Judiciary Committee, Border Patrol agents encountered over 250 illegal migrants on the terrorist watchlist along the southern border between fiscal years 2021 and 2023, with the Department of Homeland Security releasing an estimated 99 of those terrorists freely back into the U.S. Gabbard also noted the focus on keeping Americans safe and removing those who seek to do harm. Since Gabbard's appointment, the CIA has reportedly dismissed multiple Biden-era employees, according to The New York Times, aligning with Trump's push for government spending cuts.
