The Nintendo Museum in Kyoto, Japan, announced plans to expand in 2025 with a new art gallery on its second floor. This addition will showcase the artistic evolution of Nintendo's iconic characters and promotional materials.
The museum, located in Uji City near Kyoto, opened on October 2, 2024. It occupies the former Nintendo Uji Ogura Plant, the original playing card factory.
The upcoming art gallery will focus on the visual development of characters like Mario, Link, and Kirby. Visitors will see concept art and illustrations, offering insight into Nintendo's creative process. Tickets are available through a lottery system.
