Princess Lalla Hasnaa visits Azerbaijan international carpet festival

Princess Lalla Hasnaa, President of the Foundation for the Safeguarding of Rabat's Cultural Heritage, visited the Azerbaijan International Carpet Festival in Baku. The festival, held in Icherisheher, highlights the legacy of Azerbaijani carpet weaving, recognized by UNESCO in 2010.

The Princess was welcomed by officials including Emin Mammadov, chairman of Azerkhalcha, and Rufat Mahmud, mayor of Icherisheher. She toured pavilions from nations like Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan, showcasing regional textile heritage.

Princess Lalla Hasnaa visited the Azerbaijani Center of Traditional Arts, observing workshops in ceramics, jewelry making, and woodwork. She also viewed the carpet weaving process and a digital artwork installation, Zaman, which interprets Azerbaijani cultural symbols.

The festival featured exhibitions and programs honoring Azerbaijani master weavers. Princess Lalla Hasnaa's visit underscored Morocco's dedication to cultural preservation and cross-cultural dialogue.
