Tecnológico de Monterrey's School of Architecture, Art, and Design (EAAD) is representing Mexico at the Venice Architecture Biennale 2025 with its project, "Fostering Care Ecologies: Tech-Community Driven Living Labs". This initiative, the only university-led project from Latin America selected for the main exhibition, showcases sustainable solutions developed in collaboration with local communities. The Biennale, which opened May 10 and runs through November 23, 2025, focuses on addressing global challenges like climate change and social resilience.

Curated by Carlo Ratti, the 2025 edition, themed “Intelligens: Natural. Artificial. Collective,” unites experts from diverse fields to explore the future of the built environment. Monterrey Tech's project stands out for its community-driven approach, establishing 'living laboratories' in Julimes, Chihuahua; La Primavera Forest in Jalisco; and the Sierra Gorda Biosphere Reserve in Querétaro.

These labs integrate collective, natural, and artificial intelligence to generate replicable solutions. Examples include water filters and solar-powered greenhouses in Chihuahua, sanitation and ecotourism strategies in Jalisco, and responsible tourism and forest management in Querétaro. The Venice Biennale exhibit features these Living Regenerative Laboratories, demonstrating architecture's role in addressing climate and social challenges.
