New York City may soon be home to one of the world's most unique skyscrapers, "The Big Bend." Designed by Oiio, this architectural marvel addresses zoning laws by curving dramatically, potentially becoming the tallest structure in the city, surpassing even the One World Trade Center by 60 meters. The innovative design allows for increased height on a smaller land footprint, offering significant cost savings for developers. The building's curvature will create the illusion of instability, adding to its distinctive appeal. It will also feature a unique elevator system that moves horizontally through the curved structure. In Ecuador, a 'no-biennial' architecture celebration will take place across 12 cities from March 25 to April 1, 2025. Organized by Escuela Radical, this event promotes collaboration over competition, showcasing diverse perspectives and projects from Latin America. The 'no-biennial' aims to unite Ecuador and resist divisive political strategies. It will feature a wide array of participants, including architects, artists, urban planners, and cultural practitioners, fostering genuine connections and exchanges.
